Crowds Turn Up Despite Downpour

Miss Fiji National University Rejieli Vueti yesterday won the Vodafone Fiji Hibiscus Miss Charity crown.

FNU collected $41,216.68 out of the total of $152,199.03 raised by the Vodafone Hibiscus committee.

Emotional Ms Vueti said she was thankful for her supporters and her university for giving her this platform.

“I would like to thank the FNU Hibiscus committee, the staff and students of FNU for their generous support towards me and my advocacy,” Ms Vueti said.

Hibiscus Committee chairman, Hirdesh Prasad said the money that was collected would be given into charities like Fiji Society for the Blind, House of Chameleon, and St Christopher’s Home, etc.

“The money collected is given to the organisations that need it the most,” Mr Prasad said.

Chief Guest of the event, Vodafone’s chief marketing manager Rajnesh Prasad said Vodafone was glad to be a part of the carnival and looked forward to the future of the carnival.

“I wish best of luck to all the contestants, whether they win or lose this competition, but they will always be a winner for their supporters,” Mr Prasad said.
