Rahil Dedicates Victory To Parents, Grandparents

Rahil Vimal Krishna has dedicated his Vodafone Hibiscus 2016 Prince Gordon Street title to his parents and grandparents.

He said without the love and support of his parents and grandparents, he would not be able to stand there.

Rahil, 10, said he tried to do all he could to create awareness about non-communicable diseases through the festival.

“My advocacy was about NCDs and how it affects our lifestyle. We don’t realise it now but later when we are old, we will face some diseases and sickness due to NCDs,” Rahil said.

“I want everyone to start the fight and reduce NCDs in Fiji.”

Nine-year-old newly crowned Vodafone Hibiscus 2016 Princess Spring Street, Precious Smith, said her experience was her life’s best memory.

She said she had made many friends here and she would always keep them as her best memories in heart.

“My fellow contestants and I had a really good time working together to create awareness and we know, as we grow up, we will keep advocating on issues to help make Fiji a better place,” Precious said.
